What the role involves
- Owning delivery of significant features or services end to end
- Setting technical direction within a team and reviewing others' work
- Contributing to architecture decisions rather than only implementing them
- Mentoring less experienced engineers as a normal part of the role
What we look for
- Depth in at least one mainstream stack, with evidence of production ownership
- Experience of systems that had real scale, real users or real consequences
- The ability to explain a technical trade-off to someone who is not an engineer
- Interest in the problem domain, not only the technology
