Cookies this website uses
This website sets no advertising cookies, no analytics cookies and no third-party tracking cookies. We do not profile visitors, and we do not sell or share browsing data.
The only cookie the site can set is a session cookie used by our staff to sign in to the private administration area. It is strictly necessary for that area to function, it is never set for ordinary visitors, and it expires after eight hours.
Because we set no non-essential cookies, there is no consent banner. If that ever changes, we will ask for your consent before setting anything and update this page first.
Information we collect when you contact us
If you send an enquiry through the form on this site, we collect your name, company, work email address, the discipline you are hiring for and any details you choose to add. A phone number is optional. We also record the page you came from and the country your request originated in, which helps us route the enquiry to the right consultant.
If you email us a CV or register as a candidate, we collect the information you send us, which will normally include your employment history and contact details.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
For client enquiries, we process your details to respond to you and to provide recruitment services. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests, specifically responding to a business enquiry you have chosen to send us, and performance of a contract once we are engaged.
For candidates, we process your details to assess suitability for roles and to introduce you to prospective employers. We rely on legitimate interests to hold and assess your information, and we will always ask for your explicit agreement before sending your details to any client. We never submit a CV without permission.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf under contract. Cloudflare hosts this website and provides its security and network layer. Resend delivers enquiry emails to us. JobAdder is our recruitment system, where candidate and client records are held.
We share candidate information with prospective employers only with your explicit agreement, and on a role-by-role basis. We do not sell personal data to anyone, and we do not share it for advertising.
How long we keep it
Client enquiries are kept for up to two years from our last contact with you, so we can pick up a conversation where it left off. Candidate records are kept for up to two years from our last contact, after which they are deleted unless you ask us to keep them longer. Records relating to a placement we have made are kept for six years to meet our legal and accounting obligations.
Where your data is held
Our systems are hosted within the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area where possible. Some providers process data in the United States. Where that happens, transfers are covered by the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or equivalent safeguards approved for use in the UK.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct anything inaccurate, ask us to delete it, ask us to restrict how we use it, object to our use of it, and ask for it in a portable format. You can also object at any time to your data being used for direct marketing.
Email hello@synerjy.io to make any of these requests. We will respond within one month. There is no charge.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you came to us first so we can put it right.
Security
Access to candidate and client records is limited to the consultants who need it. The administration area of this website is password protected and its sessions are cryptographically signed. All traffic to this site is encrypted in transit.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page whenever what we do with data changes, and the date at the top will change with it. If we begin using analytics or any tool that identifies visitors, we will update this page and introduce a consent mechanism before doing so.
