Market view
Certification is a filter, not a signal
Networking is one of the few disciplines with a genuinely respected certification ladder, and that creates a trap. A CCIE or JNCIE proves someone passed a demanding exam. It does not tell you whether they have run a migration under load, held a production incident together at three in the morning, or made an architecture decision they had to live with for five years. We screen on what a candidate has operated and broken, using certification as a qualifying filter rather than the basis of a recommendation.
The bigger shift is convergence. Software defined networking, cloud interconnect and zero trust have pulled the discipline toward infrastructure and security, and the population that is genuinely fluent across all three is small and heavily courted by hyperscalers and managed service providers. If your specification asks for deep traditional routing alongside mature cloud networking and security, we will tell you how many such people realistically exist in your market before you commit to the search.

Do you recruit for telco as well as enterprise networking?
Yes. We cover enterprise network teams, managed service and connectivity providers, and carrier and telco environments. The skill profiles diverge considerably between them, so we agree the target environment at scoping rather than assuming a network engineer is interchangeable across all three.
Is networking experience transferable from cloud infrastructure?
Increasingly, in both directions. Cloud engineers with strong networking fundamentals convert well into cloud network roles, and traditional network engineers who have done real cloud interconnect work are among the most sought-after people in the market. Pure legacy routing without any cloud exposure is the profile narrowing fastest.
